In an act of senseless violence two NYPD officers were murdered today in Brooklyn by a man that was alleged to be seeking justice for the Eric Garner and Mike Brown acquittals in previous weeks. The names of the officers haven’t been released as of yet, but the murderer who took the two lives execution style before taking his own life, allegedly posted on Instagram about his actions. It has yet to be fully confirmed whether or not this post was related to the murders today however, the shooter was wearing almost an identical outfit from his Instagram post.
There have been many reactions to this event, on both the Instagram posts, and on Twitter. What makes us most sad is the cheering that is going on outside of the hospital. At the end of the day what we must remember is that we are all human and have a family/loved ones to go home to. These two officers were shot at point blank range in the head by this man who murdered his girlfriend in Baltimore earlier that morning. This fugitive took it upon himself to avenge grave injustices, and is only throwing flames on an issue that needs to be handled in a way that creates change, not causing more violence, anger , and terror.
We send our love and support to the families that lost their loved ones. We hope that this is not a trend that will continue and be blindly called “justice”
