If you’ve been following along with us for a bit (and I hope you have… but if you haven’t welcome!) you know that we are smack in the middle of our TNT Summer Ready Challenge. I’m just coming off of my 40 day sugar free detox and I’ve had some great results (soon to be revealed) but I also know that I can’t go back to eating the way I used to in the winter that landed me at my heaviest weight since college. So instead I set out to find some healthy alternatives to help feed into my snacking habits that would be beneficial and not harmful to my progress.

This brings me to my discovery of FitSnack . FitSnack is a subscription box service that hand picks great tasting, healthy foods and delivers them to your door step on a monthly basis. So I figure why not kick off my unboxing series this month with a subscription box that is helping me reach my fitness goals!!!

What I like about FitSnack is their company is very transparent. They tell you how each brand/ product is selected and why it is good or you too! Each product in the box must meet their strict structured requirements and that is a definite pro for me. So what exactly comes in the box and how much does it cost? Let me break that all down for you.

How does Fit Snack select what goes into each box?

  • Each product always containing two or more of the following:
GMO Free, High in protein, low in sugar, gluten free, organic, raw, vegan and all natural.
  • Each box gets a bonus item such as an energy booster, nutritional supplement, or refreshing beverage.
  • A little space is then left over for for exclusive workouts, workout gear or other active lifestyle inspiration.

A box after my own heart I must say. They have a little bit of everything to meet your holistic needs.  Here is what came inside of my box:

There were some hits and misses for me in the box simply based off of my own personal likes and dislikes, but I will say that the box does aim (and accomplishes) to give a little bit of something for everyone. I received this box during the middle of my Sugar free detox, so there were some things I didn’t get a chance to try yet because they contained sugar. However the products I did try were delicious, nutritious and filling. I can’t wait to dive in to the rest of the products that I was unable to try in the previous month. I’ll highlight a few of my faves and what I’m anticipating trying.

Simply 7 Lentil Chips: I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this because I’m not a big fan of lentil, but I was pleasantly pleased. Again I am a big snacker, and was happy with the sea salt that was added that provided a surprising appetizing flavor.

Simply 7 Quinoa Chips I haven’t tried these just yet because they do contain sugar but I am so excited to taste these chips because of my growing affection for the quinoa grain and all it has the potential to become! I will keep you posted on if these blow my mind or not.

Oven Baked Mixed Co. I was really sad that I couldn’t have regular pancakes during my sugar free detox process… but then this little package came in my FitSnack box and I was absolutely 100 % thrilled beyond belief. This gluten free pancake mix is so filling and delicious (while also being allergy friendly and nutritious)! I fell in love with this batter and it was absolutely my favorite product in the box! Who knew 100 Percent whole grain flour could taste so good!

Almond & Pumpkin Seed Mix: I love almonds and I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin seeds so I had mixed feelings about giving this a try. But again… my snacking urges forced me into trying this mix and I’m glad it did. For easier digestion you can even soak these seeds over night and have them as a snack for lunch or add them into your breakfast.

How Much Does Fit Snack Cost?

FitSnack takes into consideration everyone’s different monetary limits and has various plans with different pricing. The basic one month subscription box cost is 15 dollars a month plus shipping & handling. For 15 bucks a month you can have a box filled (and I do mean FILLED) with healthy snacks that can help get you back on track to meeting your TNT Summer Ready goals! The box certainly pays for itself and then some when you evaluate the cost of these products individually vs. the total cost of the box.

What Are The Additional benefits to being a Fit Snack member!

  • Fit Quarterly – our workout, recipe and inspirational publication.
  • Fit Music – complimentary workout music mix from one of Hollywood’s hottest DJs, Jonny Fontana.
  • Fit Community – a supportive and active community of members that share tips, ideas, and motivation.
  • Fit Philanthropy  – for each box we ship, we donate one meal through Feeding America.

Overall I rate this snack box a 4/5 because of it’s holistic approach to meeting the needs of everyone trying to get one step closer to meeting their healthy clean eating needs! Also when choosing a subscription box I like to make sure that what I’m getting is of some value and matches or exceeds the money I’ve spent on the subscription. With 12+ items in the box valued at well over 40.00 dollars I am getting my money’s worth!
