HAIR REVIEW: Kinky Curly Yaki Clip Ins Revew @KinkycurlyYaki

I got my hands on the Kinky Curly collection of  Kinky Curly Yaki’s Clip in line. Clip ins are the next wave of protective styling for the naturalista that is not only on a financial budget but also short on time. If you don’t have time to sit in a chair for hours, clip ins are the best alternative to get the same look without the hassle or hundreds of dollars spent.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive option for protective styling that gives you the look/appearance and versatility of a sew in weave without the time and money.
  • This texture is easily manipulated and can achieve any style with just about any product with ease. I was able to achieve this flexi rod look in minutes.
  • The clips are light and so is the hair so it doesn’t weigh down or create heavy/tense headaches.
  • High Quality human hair that can be  washed, colored, and straightened (though you shouldn’t do so very often so you don’t loosen the natural pattern)

Cons:

  • If you have thin/ thinning or fine hair these clip ins aren’t for you. The stress that the clips will put on your tresses may be too much for your hair to handle. Also not a good idea to tug or manipulate the clip ins too much while they are clipped into your hair.
  • You can not sleep with them (which isn’t really a big deal) but if you do it can be damaging. So always remember to remove them before bed.
  • You are going to need two sets of clip ins (which means a bit more money) if you are going for more of a fuller/denser look which is what I usually like/enjoy. The one set of clip ins does require more leave out which can be a bit of a pain to blend (especially if you’ve accidentally ordered the wrong texture)

Overall Thoughts: Kinky Curly Yaki offers varying textures of hair for relaxed and natural hair in bundles and clip in options.  My texture blending issues were because I personally chose the wrong texture by accident. If I had to order again I would choose the kinkier version to avoid these issues. I would also highly recommend getting two sets of clip ins to have a fuller experience. Overall I truly enjoy these clip ins. They are a fun go to protective style to give me a new look or add to my existing look. If you want to achieve a similar style or learn how I completed this flexi rod set, take a look at the tutorial below!!
