I have combination skin which is the trickiest skin to tackle because different parts of your skin have different needs. Overall I’d say majority of my skin is oily and requires a bit more work than the normal/dry areas of my skin. Thus I’m always looking for different masks that are gentle, natural and helpful in managing my oily skin (whether on my face or on my body). If you suffer with back acne as I do as well these masks will also be extremely beneficial for your skin care regimen.

5 Best Face Masks For Oily Skin

Banana211. Banana Mask:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 lemon (1 tablespoon of lemon juice)

Bananas are great for you hair and your skin so if you have some ripe bananas in the house that you know you’re not going to eat throw them in the freezer to save them for this purpose. Blend all of the ingredients mentioned above to have a smooth application and leave it on for fifteen minutes. I suggest if you love this mask (it is a bit messy for me) then apply it once a week for best results. Once you’ve rinsed the mask off you can apply  your regular moisturizer.

01402. Turmeric Mask:

  • 1/4 teaspoon of Turmeric powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of Honey
  • 1/4 cup of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of flour to make the mask thick/pasty.

This bright yellow spice can be staining so if you are very fair skin this may not be the best mask for you to use to get your oily skin under control. This mask not only helps with oily skin but is also helpful for brightening. You’re going adjust the yogurt measurements to your liking in order to get the paste/mask to the right consistency. So add the yogurt in last. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Bentoniteclay3. Bentonite Clay:

  • 2 tablespoons of Bentonite clay
  • 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Water
  • 1 Teaspoon of your favorite essential/carrier oil

You can adjust the measurements as long as you remain to a 2:1 ratio of clay to liquid. I use  this face mask once a week and it is a life saver. You want to make sure you don’t use any metal utensils or bowls when creating this face mask because of the bentonite clay’s magnetic properties. Ingredients: African Black Soap, Activated Charcoal, Bentonite Clay, Powdered Oats, Licorice Root, Dead Sea Salt, Tea Tree Oil, Orange oil, Glycerin

If you are not a DIY person because lets face it not all of us are then this face mask if for you. I consider myself to be a DIYer on occasion but sometimes I’m literally just too busy and want to throw something on my face without an extra mess. This activated charcoal purifying mask is great for that and for oily skin. It also serves as a spot treatment for pesky stubborn pimples that just won’t go away.

864626645. Oatmeal

  • 1 Tablespoon of Oatmeal (ground up)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon of organic yogurt

Oatmeal is great for skin care purposes and pretty good for your health as well. Mix all of the ingredients (warming up the honey will probably make it easier) and leave it on for ten minutes. This is a gentle mask so it can be used 2-3 times a week if needed.

Have you used any of the above facial masks. If you have share your thoughts below.
