Shea Shea Bakery is a skin care brand focused in revitalizing your skin naturally without nay harsh chemicals or preservatives. They use raw unaltered shea butter as the base to 90% of their products and avoid diminishing the beneficial properties by not adding many other ingredients. Besides keeping the Shea Butter as pure as possible they also create the most visually appealing adorable containers on the planet. I literally get lost on their website searching through the various “flavors” offered, and the founder/CEO is constantly creating new flavor combos to keep you coming back for more.
Shea Shea Bakery expands beyond just body butters, which I not only admire but I am thankful for as I move further and further away from regular run of the mill store bought skin care products with chemicals in them. Shea Shea Baker’s skin care line consists of cleansers for both your face and body that are rooted in African Black Soap (which you know I’m a major fan of). They also have clarifying face masks, facial toners, and moisturizers. Everything needed for a healthy skin care regimen without the harmful harsh chemicals.
I was sent 5 different products to really give me the full idea/ spectrum of this brand as well as tackle my many different skin care issues/ as well as the skin care issues you guys voted on to be discussed.
African Black Soap Liquid Wash ($5.00-9.00): This body wash was created to help acne, uneven skin tone, excess oil and to remove makeup. This is the first time I’ve ever tried African Black Soap in its liquid state so I was certainly intrigued and confused. I undoubtedly used this product incorrectly which really disappointed me because I used half of this product up before I realized I was using it wrong. You’re going to want to pour this liquid into your hand to start up the lather because it is so light it goes right through your loofa or wash cloth. I find this soap doesn’t get as sudsy as I want my cleansers to get but that doesn’t mean it is ineffective. I just find that I used up way too much of the product in such a little time that I didn’t get the full benefit.
Ingredients: Water, Shea butter tree bark, palm leaves, banana tree bark and leaves, plantains and coco pods.
Charcoal Purifying Mask (10.00): I was confused when I received this mask also but I did my due diligence and read the directions. This activated charcoal mask has to be “created” by pouring the powder into the liquid provided. I’ve really enjoyed having this mask in my arsenal these past few weeks because of my hectic schedule. It helps to eliminate toxins and even out our skin tone. When washed off it becomes an exfoliant as well. I’ve used it once as a complete facial mask but it has been doing wonders as a spot treatment for my face and back. And this product has a 1 year shelf life even with natural preservatives.
Ingredients: African Black Soap, Activated Charcoal, Bentonite Clay, Oatmeal, Dead Sea Salt, Tea Tree Oil, Orange oil, Glycerin
Strawberry Kiwi Soap Bar ($2.75-8.00): This moisturizing soap boar looks like a straight up giant jolly rancher. The scent isn’t over powering and it is super cute/small so it is great to use as a travel soap. It also contains kiwi seeds that you can physically see inside the bar. I prefer more of a lather as I stated earlier but the scent is deliciously yummy. Since I battle with bacne I also prefer a stronger/ more effective soap in dealing with those issues. The coconut oil and shea butter leave you skin extremely moisturized when you step out of the shower so if you battle with dry skin this is going to be a key player for you in your skin care regimen.
Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerin, Shea Butter, Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Oat Protein, Titanium Dioxide (mineral whitener used in opaque soaps), Fragrance
Whipped All Natural Body Butter ($5-12.00): Ingredients: Raw Shea Butter, vitamin E, glycerin
Macadamia Nut Cookie Body Butter ($10-22.00):
These two (the whipped butter and macadamia nut cookie body butter) are a part of the original squad released by Shea Shea Bakery. I like the fact that she offers the unscented version of her amazing butters because there are people who suffer from allergies or are sensitive to fragrance that can still benefit from these mini miracle butters. I alternated daily to see if either would make my skin feel differently. I alternated daily to see if either would make my skin feel differently. Both were in heavy competition with one another as they both effectively had my skin super moisturized and glowing. I definitely recommend these body butters (in any fragrance choice because you won’t be disappointed) if you suffer with eczema, psoriasis, dry skin…etc. It is incredibly thick but melts into the skin without leaving a greasy filmy feeling behind.
Ingredients: Raw Unrefined Shea Butter, Glycerin, Vitamin E, Fragrance
