DIY Home Remedies For Frizzy Hair

1. Almond Oil + Banana : Mix one small-medium sized ripe banana (depending on the amount of hair you have) and 2 tablespoons of almond oil up (preferably in a mixer) until you get a smoothie like consistency. Trust me you don’t want banana chunks left over in your hair. Apply the mix for 20-30 minutes ( can apply heat if you’d like for an added boost) and get ready to have super moisturized and soft hair. This treatment also helps to battle off frizzy hair and can be used as a deep condition or pre-poo.

2. Avocado + Peppermint Oil:  If you want to do a hot oil treatment or an oil rinse this is the best route for you. Using avocado as your fatty carrier oil and adding in peppermint oil as your essential oil is key to moisture, and a healthy scalp. This treatment works well warmed up or as an oil rinse prior to shampooing/conditioning your hair. It will also leave your scalp feeling tingly and refreshed after you have rinsed it out.

If you’d like to go a more moisture driven route use an actual avocado and a few drops of peppermint oil Mix the two until you get a guacamole like paste and apply to your hair for 20-30 minutes with a shower cap on.

3. Olive Oil+ Brown Sugar: This hair treatment is all about the scalp. While the previous treatment was great for moisture and scalp cleansing, the olive oil and brown sugar treatment is used to detox and exfoliate the scalp. A healthy scalp leads to a healthy head of hair. Use 1 cup of brown sugar and 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil in your mix. I warm this mix up ever so slightly and gently rub on my scalp to remove dead skin cells that may be blocking growth.
