My protein sensitive ladies don’t get enough love in the natural hair community and are usually left with very few options when it comes to products. It wasn’t until I went through my own protein sensitive moment (which I’m still having two years later BTW) that I realized that many products out there could be more harmful than good.
Even when crafting up my product recommendation lists for you, I found it difficult/ almost impossible to locate protein free products that were truly protein free. It’s like you almost have to be a ninja of some sorts to find products that don’t include protein. This is because several ingredients we don’t realize can be categorized a a protein such as coconut oil… which is in almost every single natural hair product on the market.
However I don’t give up that easy! I’ve cultivated this list for you with the best protein free lave in conditioners for natural hair. Most won’t break the bank, and most are 100& protein free (I’ve labeled those that have ingredients that may act as a protein in your hair)
